H.H. Douglas Oral Histories
Henry H. Douglas, a historian and archivist with the Falls Church Historical Commission, recorded oral histories from 1965 through 1982 while conducting research for his book, Falls Church: Places and People. Douglas's interviews - the majority of which occured between 1976 and 1981 - included conversations with Elizabeth Morgan Styles (daughter of Mary Riley Styles); James Henderson (son of Dr. E.B. Henderson and father of Edwin B. Henderson II); Harry E. Wells (Falls Church City Manager from 1964-1983); and Horace and Hugh Brown (owners of Brown's Hardware). Library staff are working to digitize and index the full collection (which includes more than 100 interviews) as well as generate transciptions to make the recordings full-text searchable.
